When you cannot sail the high seas in person, you do so virtually! Residents at Dr. Hemstock Residence and Hearthstone Place spent the week exploring and learning about Jamaica, Cuba, St. Lucia, Barbados, and Mexico. The week kicked off with a ‘Welcome Gala Dinner’ featuring Jerked Chicken on Caribbean Rice and Mango Cheesecake for dessert. Through out the week videos were shown highlighting the different countries visited. Residents participated in a building wide scavenger hunt, were treated to a mobile happy hour cart each day, and painted pictures of sunsets and seas. Each day was celebrated with a different dress up theme. We even spotted some ‘tacky tourists’! All week the dining room was fill with lavish, fine foods. Caribbean Baked Ham & Sauce, White Fish and Cuban Sauce, and Mexican Fish Tacos… just to name a few. At the end of the week, we returned to port with our stamped passports and reminisced about the fun that was had.
