West Kelowna Youth Ambassadors

Without all of you at the Heritage I could not run this program so successfully. You have been there for me right from day one when I started. Your generosity towards this youth program is so very much appreciated and I thank all of you at the Heritage for your ongoing support, kindness and dedication. We feel at home at the Heritage and could not see ourselves anywhere else. Everyone is so kind and supportive. I could not ask for a better place with the most wonderful people to hold all of our workshops and events for the WKYAP. Thank you for everything. Have a great day.

The purpose of the West Kelowna Youth Ambassador Program is to prepare youth between the ages of 14 to 17 to develop their abilities, skills, knowledge, enhancing their personal respect and integrity for adulthood and thus enabling them to proudly represent their families and their community.

Alexandra Whitt is our sponsored candidate for the West Kelowna  Youth Ambassadors program. The opening ceremonies were held here at The Heritage where all the new candidates were given their new sashes by their sponsors. Refreshments were served with families and friends. A beautiful evening.

From: Keith Burton – Chair, Friends of the Library, West Kelowna

  • The Heritage gladly stepped forward and agreed to be the site for our Book sale. They have done so in 2017, 2018 and 2019 in the end of May time frame with 2020 planned as well.
  • Our book sales of $5000 – $7000 for the book sales per year was an indication of how busy the sale was and how active we kept the Heritage

When people bought books and when the Heritage provided all the support, they did for our Book sale, they showed a strong community support for our library. That support helped all ages. The funds were used such things as our Speaker Series, numerous kids’ programs including a Summer Reading program which saw over 500 children being involved, a visit from Santa, and new furniture such as tables and kids chairs and carpeting

In closing, the Friends of the Westbank Library are very much grateful for what the Heritage Retirement Residence has done for use over the years. We are sure it will continue into the future.
